Dr. Tim Reeder Announces Re-Election Campaign for North Carolina House District 9

Dr. Tim Reeder today announced his campaign for re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives, where he currently serves the people of Pitt County in District 9. Reeder, an emergency physician, educator, and committed public servant, said he is running to continue delivering practical, solutions-focused leadership for Pitt County and the state of North Carolina.

“Representing the citizens of District 9 has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” said Dr. Reeder. “I entered public service to bring a steady, accountable voice to Raleigh—one grounded in real-world experience, common-sense decision making, and a deep commitment to the health and well-being of our community. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, but there is more work to do.”

During his tenure, Dr. Reeder has prioritized strengthening rural and community healthcare, improving public safety, supporting responsible budgeting, expanding educational opportunities, supporting ECU, and advancing policies that foster economic growth throughout eastern North Carolina.

Reeder emphasized that his re-election campaign will focus on continuing to deliver results for families, local businesses, and the entire region.

“My priorities remain clear: protect taxpayer dollars, raise teacher pay to the highest in the southeast, protect and fully fund Medicaid, support law enforcement and first responders, and ensure that our community has a strong healthcare system,” Reeder said. “I’m running again because I believe in this community—and because we deserve leadership that listens, responds, and gets things done.”

A longtime emergency physician at ECU Health and associate professor at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine, Dr. Reeder has spent decades serving on the front lines of healthcare. His background gives him a unique perspective on the challenges families face and the policies needed to support stronger, healthier communities.

Dr. Reeder will be available at the Pitt County Board of Elections on December 2, 2025, at 10:00am where he will file for reelection.
