Working Towards a Healthy North Carolina

Dr. Tim Reeder is an emergency physician, educator, lifelong Republican, and conservative, running for re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives in Pitt County District 9. His dedication to serving and helping others has led him to bring his problem-solving abilities to support the citizens of Pitt County and North Carolina.

While working full time for East Carolina University and the Brody School of Medicine, Dr. Reeder obtained his master's degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Reeder first ran for office on a promise to the voters that he would always prioritize their needs above all, and in the state House of Representatives, that’s exactly what he’s done.

In his first term, Dr. Reeder fought to:

  • Expand School Choice in North Carolina
  • Defend the 2nd Amendment
  • Stand up for Life
  • Protect Women’s Support
  • Secure $500+ million for East Carolina University
  • Pass one of the largest tax cuts in state history

Dr. Reeder has remained a strong advocate for rural communities, and a problem solver for the state of North Carolina.

Healthcare

Dr. Reeder knows access to health care is important for everyone in Pitt County. As an emergency room doctor and a professor at the ECU Brody School of Medicine, Dr. Reeder sees the challenges the people of Pitt County face every day. He will take his skills in the ER of working quickly and collaboratively to the State House to get results for us.

Education

Tim will support our students, parents, and teachers in pursuing every educational opportunity they can. His plan includes keeping our schools safe with more funding for School Resource Officers and mental health professionals. He will also prioritize helping our students learn the basics of reading, writing, math, science, and history.

North Carolina has a long tradition of excellence in education from primary through college, either the community college or university system, or a technical degree. Our students should have access to the best teachers and schools to prepare them to compete in a global economy.
