About Dr. Tim Reeder

Dr. Tim Reeder is an emergency physician, educator, lifelong Republican, and committed conservative running for re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives in Pitt County’s District 9.   His dedication to service and helping others has shaped his approach to public office, where he brings real-world problem-solving skills to support the people of Pitt County and North Carolina.   

Dr. Reeder earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University before moving to North Carolina in 1998. While working full-time at East Carolina University and the Brody School of Medicine, he went on to complete a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.   

Dr. Reeder has served many roles in the Brody School of Medicine, educating the next generation of medical students and resident physicians. At ECU Health/Vidant Medical Center he has held many leadership positions including Chief of Staff, helping to support the medical center and improve the health of Eastern North Carolina.    

He has worked to advance the health and welfare of North Carolinians through his leadership in the North Carolina Medical Society, a professional organization representing nearly 8,000 physicians and PA’s across North Carolina. He served as President of the Society 2019.   

Dr. Reeder has been active in the community, serving for 10 years on the Board and as President of the Greenville Community Shelter.   

Dr. Reeder first ran for office on a promise to the voters that he would always prioritize their needs above all, and in the state House of Representatives, that’s exactly what he’s done.
